FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: DO I QUALIFY FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANA?
A: In order to qualify for the Michigan Medical Marihuana Registry, you must be suffering from one of the qualifying medical conditions under the Act. Visit our Qualifying Conditions page
for a complete description.
Q: HOW DO I BECOME AN MMMRC CLINICS PATIENT?
A: It's easy, and it's free to have your case evaluated by a MMMRC physician. Simply get registered either by stopping in to the clinic offices in Marquette or Houghton, or get started from
the privacy of your own home, by registering online. After you fill out the Registration Form, a MMMRC representative will help you with the next step.
Q: I'VE HEARD I CAN GET MY CERTIFICATION THROUGH THE MAIL BY MAILING A CHECK OR BY FILLING OUT A FORM & PAYING ONLINE. IS THAT LEGAL?
A: Absolutely NOT! The Michigan Medical Marihuana Act,as amended, and the Michigan Board of Medicine requires a "bon a fide" physician/patient relationship and that includes and
in-person visit and examination of your medical records and history by your certifying physician. Doctors who send you a form and ask for you to check a few boxes and mail them a check
are not providing you with a certification that will stand up in court should you be arrested. The law is very clear on this, and you can count on MMMRC to provide you with a valid, defensible
certification. Our physicians proudly stand by our patients and have even testified, in court, on their behalf for no additional charge.
Q: HOW MUCH MARIJUANA CAN I LEGALLY POSSESS?
A: Patients should read and familiarize themselves with the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act and the Administration Rules regarding the specific quantities of plants and product allowed
per patient without being subject to arrest. Generally speaking a registered Michigan Marijuana patient may not posses more than 2.5 ounces of medical marijuana.
Q: HOW DO I USE MEDICAL MARIJUANA?
A: A patient can experience the effects of medical marijuana in a variety of ways; by inhaling smoke or vapors from the plant, ingesting medical marijuana added to food or drink, applying
concentrated variations of the plant under the tongue, or applying medical marijuana lotions or salves to the skin.
Q: WHERE CAN I GET MEDICAL MARIJUANA?
A: According to the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act, a registered medical marijuana patient may grow, or cultivate his own medical marijuana (up to 12 plants), or can designate a
caregiver to grow or cultivate on your behalf. Designated caregivers must also be registered with the state of Michigan. Physicians and / or clinics, such as the Marquette Medical
Marijuana Registration Center DO NOT keep medical marijuana on the premises.
Q: WHAT ARE MMMRC'S HOURS OF OPERATION?
A: For your convenience, Marquette Medical Marihuana Registration Center is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm. Our Marquette office is located at 2250 US Highway 41
South, Marquette. (MAP).
Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO GET MY CERTIFICATION FROM MMMRC
A: MMMRC does not guarantee that all interested patients will receive a certification from our physician(s). All patients MUST qualify under the terms of the Michigan Medical Marihuana
Act. Contact our clinic office for more information.
Q: I'VE HEARD THAT I HAVE TO BECOME A CHIROPRACTIC PATIENT BEFORE THE DOCTOR WILL EVALUATE MY CASE.
A: Absolutely Not!! We too have heard rumors of other area providers requiring you to be evaluated by a Chiropractor prior to your receiving a consultation with a medical doctor. At
MMMRC, you are not required to become a patient of a chiropractor or purchase additional, unnecessary services before your case will be evaluated. MMMRC physician(s) only provide
medical consultation and evaluation of medical marijuana patients, and nothing more! You will not be asked to or required to make any other purchases!
If you have any other questions, that were not answered here, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to serving you.
